For the website banner and images I wanted to work with someone who I was familiar with and who’s skills I loved. I opted for Drew Heaslip a professional published photographer of nearly 5 years. He is the owner of Aperture Studio established in October 2006, which is now known as Icon Images as of April 2011. I have worked with Drew before for portfolio shots and I have always been extremely happy with his work. Drew is not only a lovely person but a pleasure to work with and makes shoots simple and straightforward. I was confident no matter what I had in mind he would work alongside me to get the best results.
For my make up and hair I wanted something simplistic yet special. I prepared my skin and applied my favourite Karora Cosmetics (available from my Sparkle Shop) tan the night prior to the shoot to give myself a glow. On the day of the shoot I applied a medium coverage foundation, concealed, contoured, applied blush and filled in my brows as normal. For my eyes I used a shimmery white highlight all over the lid and in the inner corners and contoured using a shimmery taupe shade. A precise application of liner, individual false lashes and a peachy pink gloss completed the look. For my hair I used large barrel curling tongs and sprayed with hairspray to hold in place for the day.
I traveled up to Lisburn where Drew’s studio is located and we began by heading to Hillsborough Forest to shoot the fairy images for the banner.
The forest was overlooking a beautfiul lake and although it was a dull day the weather turned out to be perfect for the shoot and I lived every little girls dream by playing dress up and feeling pretty in a magical setting.
Afterwards we did the beauty shots you see on the homepage which section off the site and we even squeezed in a mother daughter shoot at the end of the day which will feature in theGallery section of this site.
